Botanicals

Elderberry is the base on which Royal is built. Cassia cinnamon and star anise are used as a counterpoint to elderberry and provide forward aromatics. A touch of fennel complements and enhances the natural sweetness of star anise with mace flower providing heat. The blend is perfected with the addition of lemon peel to provide mouthfeel and a hint of bitter sweetness.

Recipes

Royal can be enjoyed simply. It is profound served neat or as an alcohol free Old Fashioned. Royal is also adventurous. As a long drink garnished with citrus it is a perfect accompaniment to fragrant, spicy dishes. And it has the body and depth to add an unexpected complexity to cocktails.

The ROYAL Sour

Ingredients

60 ml Ovant Royal
30 ml Lemon Juice
1 dash Angostura Bitters
1 Egg white

Garnish

1 dash Angostura Bitters

Coupe Cocktail Shaker Hawthorne Strainer Conical Cocktail Sieve

Technique

Add all ingredients into a cocktail shaker and dry shake for 5 seconds.
Add cubed ice and shake for 5 seconds.
Double-strain into a coupe glass.
Garnish with 1 dash of Angostura bitters.

Fool's Gold

Ingredients

60 ml Ovant Royal
1 barspoon Orange Marmalade
1 pc Lemon, wedge
½ tsp Brown Sugar
1 dash Orange Bitters

Garnish

Flamed Orange Zest
Clear Ice Block

Rocks Cocktail Shaker Muddler Hawthorne Strainer Conical Cocktail Sieve

Technique

Add orange marmalade, lemon wedge, brown sugar and bitters to the cocktail shaker and muddle.
Add Ovant Royal to the shaker, fill with cubed ice and shake for 5 seconds.
Double-strain into a rocks glass filled with a clear ice block.
Flame the orange zest and garnish.

Ingredients

60 ml Ovant Royal
30 ml Sweet Vermouth
1 dash Bitters

Garnish

Nick and Nora Mixing Glass Barspoon Julep Strainer

Technique

Add Ovant Royal, sweet Vermouth, and bitters to a mixing glass filled with ice and stir for 5 seconds.
Strain into a Nick and Nora glass.
Garnish with a maraschino cherry.

60 ml Bourbon
30 ml Ovant Royal
15 ml Lemon Juice
1 Egg White

Coupe Cocktail Shaker Hawthorne Strainer Conical Cocktail Sieve

Technique

Add all ingredients into a cocktail shaker and dry shake for 5 seconds.
Add cubed ice and continue to shake for 10 seconds.
Double-strain into a coupe glass.
Garnish with a dash of bitters.
